Preschool Cooking Day

Yesterday the church hosted a preschool cooking day.  I took both kids.  They had a blast.  We started out making our placemats:

GREAT FUN!!!!(and therapy too!)

Our church was replacing their mats in the toddler rooms and I happened to overhear the conversation and out of my mouth comes, "Wow, can we have them.  They would be great for Sarah.  I will pay you for them."  Of course the church will not let me pay for them, but they gave them to us!!!!  Sarah and Elijah have had a blast on them.  Sarah is already doing things tonight that she did not do last night when we got them.  I never thought I would be so bold to ask, but I am getting bolder where my children are concerned.  These are going to be great for Sarah's mobility.  Here are a few pictures of the fun.  I have a great video that I will post when I have more time.  It is so cute and shows how much Sarah is able to do now.God's Handiwork God's Handiwork God's Handiwork Yep, she crawls up the slide and goes down the stairs.  She goes up the stairs some, but mostly the slide.  Man she slept GOOD last night.  We are still trying to find a good spot for this.  It is huge!  I do not want it here it is too close to the door and last night she fell into the toys.  So we tried a new spot today, but it also will not work.  Guess I am going to have to clean up the entire playroom to move furniture to find a place for it!  Oh well, it needs a good cleaning.

Swimming Lessons Graduation

Elijah graduated from Guppie swimming class on Saturday.  He did wonderful.  Doug has been taking him to classes, so this was the first time I have gotten to see him.  He puts his head under, jumps in, "swims" with support, and floats with support!  The teacher added another class to start tonight, so we went ahead and enrolled him in the Level 1 class!!  Here are a few pictures of the fun!

up...Up....UP.....UUUUUPPPPP!!!

Ok, we have been talking about when Sarah should go to a toddler bed.  Elijah was already in a toddler bed by this age because he was climbing out of the bed.  We have the opposite problem with Sarah.  She tries to climb into her bed.  Last night about 5:30pm she crawled into her room and tried to climb into her bed.  She started out saying "up,up,up" then "nite-nite up, nite-nite up".  She actually had her foot on the bottom rail and was trying to climb up.  I tried to get a picture, but she moved her foot too fast.God's Handiwork Then she just shook the rail and screamed "UUUUUUPPPPP".  God's Handiwork She is the only kid I know that actually likes to go to bed.  She just giggles when we put her to bed.  I had to tighten the screws on the side rail, she has shaken them loose.  What am I going to do with this girl?

Slow week...well, kinda.

Slow for us I would say.  Yesterday we stayed home and did some cleaning and laundry.  Man was I behind on the laundry.  I also painted while the kids had a nap/rest time.  We are trying to get the house together for our homestudy.   So here is a run down of our week.  Mon, Wed, Thurs-Elijah has swimming lessons.  Tues, Wed, Thurs-Sarah has therapy appointments.  Tues night-Doug and I have an adoption education meeting.  Wed-Sarah and I will go to church(Elijah and Doug to swimming lessons).  Fri we have a playdate with A and O to go swimming.  Sat-Elijah has swimming lessons graduation.  Pop-pop and Karen are coming to see him graduate and will stay the weekend.  So, see a slow week!!  I guess I have just gotten use to being on the go and it really seems like a slow week.  Not much to blog about so far.  Here are a few pictures I took

of the kids a few minutes ago so I would have some to post.

God's Handiwork God's Handiwork   Sarah is suppose to be napping in these pictures.  God's Handiwork So this is how all of the ships sank, Elijah was driving!

Maybe our lives will get more interesting and I will have something to blog about!!  Have a great day!

Sarah does not like the new gate!!!

We installed a gate at the bottom of the stairs today because Sarah loves to climb the stairs.  She has no fear!  We also had to install it for our homestudy/safety visit for our adoption.  Sarah was not happy with the gate.  She pitched a major fit.  Elijah then came in the hallway and had a cookie.  Guess who got the cookie.God's Handiwork hmm, I think she likes cookies.God's Handiwork God's Handiwork God's Handiwork After we got all of the cookie cleaned up, she decided to try the gate again,God's Handiwork she is not happy she is actually growling at me.

Ok, so this is the hundreth try at redesigning the blog. I want something that is easy to read, pretty to look at, I don't really know what I want. I will stay with this one for a day or so and see how it feels!

Mini Music Camp and Swimming Lessons

Elijah has had a very busy week.  He has been going to Mini Music Camp at church every morning.  He has had a blast.  I asked him on Mon what they did and he said "We did a lot of music".  Hmmm, I guess I just thought he knew it was MUSIC camp, hence a lot of music.  He was telling Sarah this morning all about camp and that when she got older she would get to go and it was lots of fun.  Today at lunch they presented their musical.  It was so cute.  I got a few pictures before the batteries went dead in the camera, but I video all of it.  If I get adventurous I will try to post the video.  God's HandiworkGod's HandiworkGod's Handiwork Elijah has also been taking swimming lessons at night.  Doug takes him for this.  He is doing some of the stuff.  Swimming is not his favorite thing.  He hates to get water on his face.  We are hoping the lessons help.  He will have lessons next week also.  On Sat they will have graduation so I will share pictures then also.

NOTES to self....

The kid's cherry yogurt looks like blood when spit up later, so DO NOT PANIC.  Most mornings we put Sarah's vitamins in yogurt.  Both kids love the cotton candy yogurt, which happens to come with cherry yogurt, so they have to eat the cherry before we buy more yogurt.  I forgot to give Sarah her reflux medicine this morning and about 20 minutes after having her yogurt she spit up...red...blood red spit up.  Scared me to death.  I nearly broke my neck trying to get to her.  I was so relieved when I figured out it was yogurt.  I don't think I will be giving the kids the cherry yogurt again anytime soon, it just is not worth that scare.  I am shaking just retelling it. God's Handiwork

Second note to self....When thinking about giving Sarah her Miramax wait one more day.  Without fail within 5 minutes of giving Sarah a dose of miramax for constipation she poops big time.  Man, the rest of the day is not going to be good.  Lots of laundry will done before the day is done.  Sarah has always had pooping issues.  Since she is more mobil there are fewer issues.  If she goes 3 days without pooping then I give her miramax to help.  Daily she has 3 oz of the plum smart juice and that generally does the deed, but occasionally she needs help.  Apparently today she did not need help, just more time.  Great let the fun begin!God's Handiwork

Guess what Sarah is doing....

God's Handiwork God's Handiwork God's Handiwork God's Handiwork

Escaping...No I mean climbing the stairs!!!!  I think she was really trying to get away from Elijah, and showed her much improved skills of climbing the stairs.  She was really fast too.  Her balance has really improved the last week or so.  I would have never dreamed that I would be taking pictures because I would be right there holding her in case she stumbled, but now I am able to be a bit further back and got a few pictures.  She only went up the small landing of three stairs.  She wanted to go up the full set around the corner, but I stopped her, too many stairs, too far to fall.  Got to find a gate that will fit TODAY!!
