More boat pictures

Sorry, I have been a bad picture taker. I have not taken pictures in weeks. I will do better the next few weeks. We are seeing family this weekend, Sarah has a birthday, and Sarah starts school. Lots of activites to take pictures!!! We are not having birthday parties this year. We are going to Disney over fall break and this is everyone's birthday for this year! We are going to have a family celebration for each birthday. We will go out and eat and the kids will get a small gift. The main gift will be Disney.

Mini Music Camp

The kids went to mini music camp at church this summer. They really had a great time. Elijah was so excited that he got to play bells. Sarah also got to play the bells, but someone "helped" her, so she really did not get to play them. Wished they would have just let her play, she did not seem to mind. Guess it bothered me more than her, lol. Both of my kids love music. I am so glad that they enjoy music. I love to hear them sing.

Our Day Educationally Speaking

I am trying to incorporate more educational themes to our day at home, now that Elijah is at school. Sarah will start mother's day out in Sept, but that is more for social aspects, although I expect she will grow academically also. Today we have practiced stringing our animals (like lacing beads-fine motor skill) while saying the name and sound of the animal. She did wonderful!!! The rooster is her favorite right now. Then we got out the operation game and named body parts and used the tweezers to put the objects out of the spaces(very hard fine motor skill for Sarah!). Next she undressed the baby and put her on the potty and then she practiced her toileting skills. Then centers. She played in homeliving area and cared for the baby. After centers we learned about people at work. Today was the doctor. Sarah is going to be a great doctor. She loves to listen to your heart. She even makes the sound for the heart beat. She is a little rough with the shots, lol. Then we had recess. Jumping, running and climbing were all incorporated. Music with all of the instruments was lots of fun, followed by quiet time reading in the library nook. We also practiced the ABC's and the sounds--this just was not fun today, so did not go to well. Now we are back in centers and Sarah is pushing the baby and the sword(don't ask) in the baby stroller! For lunch she is going to get to help make her sandwich and pour her juice. Then rest time!!!!! This is the time I am most excited about. She is doing so good. We are very proud of her progress.

More July 4th Pictures

Still behind on the updates. We are all doing well. Elijah is loving school. We had a little water damage from our washing machine. Apparently washers do not like to wash pull-ups. Not sure exactly what the part is called, but the pull-up filler clogged it and then the water came out of the washer too fast for the pipes and flooded the laundry room. Not too bad, easy enough to clean up. What we did not know was that the water had gone under the baseboards into our closet and bedroom. Of course this was in areas that we do not walk in and did not know it was wet until I began to smell it. I searched and searched, but could not find the smell. Doug was moving some boxes in the floor of the closet when he found the MOLD. YUCKY MOLD!!! Our insurance is covering new sub-floors, flooring, and repairs to HVAC and cleaning of the duct work for mold. We upgraded our flooring to tile and hardwood!!! It looks great. Since it was so new and pretty, I decided to paint the bedroom, bath, and closet. I am still painting and may be painting for a long time!!!! I will try to update more later!!!

First day of school

Just a week late!!! Elijah started school last Monday. His best friend is not in his class, but he adjusted without problems. Jaden came over on Thursday and spent the day(kids were out due to elections). He had a great week. I really like his teacher. She has 12 years of experience and seems very organized. She also keeps the kids in line. One day Elijah came home and said everyone in his center group had to go back to their seats and sit due to not behaving except him. Glad to hear he was behaving and glad to know that she was aware of who was misbehaving and not just punish the group or the whole class. Plan on eating lunch one day with him this week.
