We had tons of fun today at the Buddy Walk. It was a bit cold this morning, but the sun was shining and warmed us up really fast. The kids loved the fun games and activities and I got my exercise in all for a good cause. Sarah really loved the ducks in the pond and kept saying duck, duck, duckie! Quack, Quack, woof (a dog went by!). She is getting so much more vocal. She has also decided the AFO's are not that bad and really likes to walk in them. In fact, she was up last night with leg cramps. Guess I need to watch the walking for a bit until she get use to using her muscles differently. Here are pictures of our fun day. Kathryn and some of the ladies she works with at First Steps and their spouses(or soon to be spouse) also walked with us. I did not get a picture of Sarah with Irene(speech therapist) who was also there. Several others did I will have to get a copy. Elijah decorated the wagon for us. Here we are warming up before we walked. And we are on our way! Waiting to get our award! And the winner is SARAH!!! (and all kids with Down syndrome!) And the upset brother who only got a ribbon. I explained to him that this was for Sarah and on Monday he would have his soccer awards to go to and Sarah would not get anything. On to the fun!
Can you send me some of the pictures? I would love to print them out and add them to my 2008 photo album. We had so much fun today. Thanks for letting us come along!! Kathryn
We are a family of five who have been blessed by God. Doug and I were married in 2002 and immediately wanted to start a family. God blessed us with our son Elijah in 2003 through the beauty of birth. Elijah loves to play outdoors and to play with his Nitendo. We were blessed with Sarah in 2007 through the beauty of adoption. Sarah has Down syndrome, but is not defined by it. She is proving all of the statistics wrong and is growing and achieving at a record pace. We were blessed with Isaac in 2010 to complete our family. He is also adopted and has Down syndrome, excited to watch him grow!! Doug is a utility forester with the local utility company. I, Robyn, am a stay at home mom who is never at home. I am a Young Living Essential Oils Independent Distributor and I love my oils! Elijah in the sixth grade and loves all things mindcraft and Star Wars. Sarah is 9 and in the 2nd grade. Isaac is almost 5 and doing preschool work. We are a homeschooling family that lives life to the fullest. I love my life and I am so blessed.
