His Hand in Mine

I am stealing this idea from Renee at Life with my special k's. She does a Saturday Song theme. I am always thinking about songs and what they mean to me. Music has always been a special part of my life. I love to sing, now I am not saying I sing good or even ok, but I do my part in making a joyful noise. Sunday mornings are always horrible at our house. For some reason we are always running late. The more we rush the slower the kids are. Renee put on her blog a song called True Colors that tells about Sunday Mornings and how true colors can come shining through. Well, this morning was like that we were late, the kids were whiney, and finally I began screaming. But, I remembered Renee's post and stopped still and just began singing. Sarah's favorite song right now is I'll Fly Away, so that is what I began to sing. The kids calmed down, we finished dressing, and got to church on time and happy. Man, this was so much more peaceful and productive. See, I did not allow the devil the upper hand. I stomped him with praise to God, my father. The word of God is so powerful. I am going to vow this week to sing my way through the rough times, the happy times, and give praise to God. At church today a lady sang the following song and the truth in the words is so powerful.

His Hand In Mine(words & music by Mosie Lister)

You may ask me how I know my Lord is real
You may doubt the things I say and doubt the way I feel
But I know He’s real today He’ll always be
I can feel His hand in mine and that’s enough for me
I will never walk alone He holds my hand
He will guide each step I take
And if I fall I know He’ll understand
Till the day He tells me why He loves me so
I can feel His hand in mine
I will never walk alone He holds my hand
That’s all I need to know
He will guide each step I take
And if I fall I know He’ll understand
Till the day He tells me why He loves me so
I can feel His hand in mine
That’s all I need to know
I can feel His hand in mine
That’s all I need to know

What great words! I actually took my own advice this morning and got up in time and focused on getting us all ready (and NOT sitting down in front of the computer) and I too, started singing when I felt myself getting angry. It worked! I had much happier kids (and a happier mama) by the time we got to church! :)
